Joseph Altuzarra launched his luxury ready to wear fashion line in New York in 2008. At this year’s New York Fashion Week spring summer 2017 collection, Altuzarra brought fruity feminine to his collection with a mix of garments, such as crop tops, fitted dresses, Capri flowing pants and flowing romantic organza gowns making a statement of independent seductivity with a hint of French sophistication.
Altuzarra added this year trend of crop tops to his line with a twist using Lolita frills along the bust and straps in light pastel colours of blues and pinks to bring a little freshness to spring.

The dress collection where a mix of silk organza and 50´s figure hugging belted waist creations. When first seeing his designs you get a wave of Romanticism in his light flowing flower patterned dresses in blues, pinks and white with embroidered cherries, pineapples and lemons that add a little fun and happiness. The more figure hugging dresses made you think of 50´s-style sexiness in darker colours of black and deep reds. They were a mix of sexy and flirty with a Parisian sophistication emphasising Josephs French heritage.

Altuzarra also added the staple French coat in patterns of python skin and light blue gingham pattern with white lace and embroidered cherries on the bottom. The pantsuit was an array of light, Capri pants and fitted blazers to give a uniformed look with a relaxed summer feel.

Overall Altuzarra 2017 collection was of fun summer fruit taste with a bohemian Romanticism and independent female confidence.
