Flur Magazine was born in 2012 as an online platform, with the objective of generating latent content of national and international design, art and music. As we grew up over this time, many of the designers and artists we’ve highlighted in several of our articles have too. We believe in them and that the market and the industry is also evolving, and that is why we bet to be a tool for those emerging talent that are in the stage of growth.
Flur adapts and incorporates FlurMarket, a space where fashion, art and design combin in a curated selection of products by young designers. The mission of FlurMarket is to give them the opportunity to go abroad and export their products without major complications.
Among these emerging designers, Flur Magazine selected the #FlurDesigners, innovative talents relay on edgy designes and who seek for inspiration in experimentation itself, betting on noble materials such as leather, wool, cotton, among others.
Tavo García
Student and independent designer, Tavo García, with the minimalist aesthetic that characterizes him, bases its collections on fun and a youthful and limitless lifestyle. Experimenting with androgynous, simple shapes and transformable clothing items, its latest collection «AGUAVIVA», consists of simple and unisex garments, using resources such as color blocks and transparencies giving a fluidity to the collection that does justice to its name.
Mocca Studio
Mocca Studio, brand created by the designer Matilde Pacheco, was born from the research of leather properties, and satisfy the needs of the public in search for quality and differentiation of the design of author. Designing from Uruguayan raw materials such as leather and wool, Mocca is mainly dedicated to the design and production of handbags and purses, characterized by a minimalist style that we love in Flur, but without leaving aside its own stamp, the work of textures by means of various stamping techniques.
Alba Knitwear Design
Alba Knitwear Design is the result of Marcela Abal initiative, who wanted to create a project based upon the reconsideration of native values transmitted from generation to generation in Uruguay. Using the hand-knitting techniques taught by their grandmothers in their childhood, Alba seeks to generate a product adaptable to women of modern times with a significant value and defined characteristics. Alba tries to show the world the value of natural weaving and handcraft techniques, and values handcrafter women who have made each garment.
Rhoda
Emiliana Gonçalves is a designer who looks for her inspiration through nature and architecture, being the influences of her over time. From its early years, it was very close to the design, the fabrics and the sewing machine. Restless and detailed in simplicity and elegance, this designer is constantly looking for new challenges to feed her experience, a lover of avant-garde styles, a mixture of colors and asymmetric cuts in her designs being unique in her style.
We believe in our #FlurDesigners and that is why we are betting to be a tool for these young designers who today go out on the market with hunger for great achievements.
