Last week I came across a new band that surprised me with a sound almost alien, as described later, and shrilly. Upon entering the site where you can hear the new band I realized that I knew the person in the photograph. Clara Trucco.
At that moment I wrote to her and she told me a little about this band that is only beginning: «Weste emerged almost by accident one evening of improvisation I was having with my Uruguayan friend Ignacio Perez. That day new and incredible sounds and languages were born and this took us for surprise. The set of voice, electronic and instruments, for us were directed to something extraterrestrial, out of space. All this that was happening needed to be personified. We wanted to create an image, something or someone to give it a more specific identity to the project. From that idea is that Weste was born: a being that can come in the least expected, speaking a language where no matter what you say, but as is said. Weaving together the human and the cosmos and the earth. »

I love the sound, I love the name, I love Clara’s voice, but there are many people involved in this project: Ale Schmidt from Uruguay made the mastering and bass, electric guitar by King Ailin, Sofia Toti Trucco playing ronroco, Zeca Saralegui lend the study.
