Berlin Art Week took place in Berlin for the fifth time this year and it was spectacular as always. The event that concentrates on all aspects of Art widened its’ horizons this year filling the week with enough exhibitions to keep your mind busy for the rest of the year.
The week was also jam packed with talks from some of the artists, films, art fair’s and even tours. It was a great event even for individuals who aren’t much interested in art, as it get’s your mind thinking about the pictures and paintings and what story it tells about the artist.

With art scattered around the exhibition walls, some featuring rather deep messages involving politics and others the world’s happenings that are in the spotlight right now.

There were hundreds of different wall slots to look at and hear a little more about the art and the artist. For Berliners this event is a must of the year, as it brings not only Germans but people from all over the world, who travel to Berlin to see new art and mingle amongst crowds of artists and fashionistas. Artists from all over the world want their work to be featured so it’s all about standing out and being that little bit different, as Germans love that, especially Berliners.
There wasn’t a corner turn without seeing a gallery worth popping in and seeing some of the artist’s mind.

«Köfte Airlines» (HAU2) and performances were featured by French choreographer Jérôme Bel. Are a must-see!
The week was also filled with different performances, one to highlight was by Anne Imhof Angst II at Hamburger Bahnhof- Museum für Gegenwart. In the picture below you can see the artist’s smoke filled room with someone attached to the roof as people watched from the ground.

YES I SAID THE ROOF!!
Of course it wouldn’t be BERLIN Art Week if there wasn’t a little nudity and exposure.

The week was an absolute hit as always and is still the topic of conversation amongst Berliners and on social media including Instagram. If you sadly didn’t attend the week then you can see all the different art, exhibitions and performances online at the Berlin Art Week Facebook page here –
