Spreading Fashion Innovation, Captivating People

The Best of Berlin Alternative Fashion Week 2017

in Designers/Fashion

The famous Berlin Alternative Fashion Week arrived yet again and brought new young international designers to showcase their creations. Berlin is of course well known for it’s fashion choices and the people that live here are able to express themselves in their own unique way.

This year was an event to remember as it didn’t just bring new young fresh faced designers it was held at the world famous BERGHAIN nightclub which is probably the most talked about club in Europe right now.

The designers that showcased their designs had definitely stepped up the mark and had models walking the run way of the club in the most memorable pieces to date.

The event was filled with fashionistas of all ages wanting to cop the first look of the designers new collections and obviously ticking off which piece they want to buy shortly after.

Here are some of our favourite looks and all you need to know about the designers we’ve picked out.

First up we have ‘MAISON MASON‘ by Patrick Mason.

Mason who is known for his own fashion looks and daring choices is actually very well known all over the fashion industry and making a name for himself.

It was great to see some of his own creations on others and showing the public that you can wear what ever you want when you style it right.

Bringing lots of colour to brighten up BERGHAIN he definitely had guests attention, with wavy flared high waisted trouser designs along side long oversized flared sleeves giving it that slightly vintage/futuristic look.

The designs being gender free and allowing anyone to wear them makes it even better.

The designs were a huge hit at the show and you can see why, strapped around the models were long coloured belts which almost seemed like seat belts from a car.

Well it is Alternative Fashion Week and if it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for us.

For more info on Maison Mason and Patrick himself be sure to check out the social media of his designs and himself: MAISON MASON and Patrick Mason.

Next up we have ‘Jade Helene Designs’ by Jade Helene who we love here at FLUR. She always takes great attention to her creations making them fit for any occasion.

The South African designer has been in Berlin for a couple of years now but is sure making her name known with the young generation being spotted in her designs in events and clubs all over Berlin.

It is great to see the change from Jade’s show last year, this year she definitely upped her game by bringing more colour and even splits in her dresses that show off the body in an elegant way.

The black 2 piece top and skirt had heads turning at the show as this design is very Berlin, I’m pretty sure we will be seeing this design being worn a lot more and not just by this model.
