The 5th edition of the Barcelona Contemporary Art Fair “BCN INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR” presented the international artists of the moment. This past 16th and 17th of December, the city of Barcelona brought together the most relevant artists from all over the world in one place.
The BIAF took place in the Maritime Museum of Barcelona and featured a variety of artistic expressions, from the traditional painting and sculpture to the most modern and avant-garde in photography, mixed media, illustration and more. Visitors were able to contemplate a great variety of works of art and limited editions of the highest quality, in addition to interesting sessions of “Street Art” live.
This fair included over 100 exhibits from 35 countries, among which we can find Australia, South Africa, United States, Japan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Israel, Thailand, Europe and from South America, Uruguay. Representing our little country, the photographer Gabriella Rouiller was selected to exhibit her works. Like previous years she presented several of her photographs in which she plays with the human body, lights and shadows and perspectives, almost generating optical illusions that makes you doubt what you are really seeing, she is amazing!
Continuing with the success of BIAF’s past editions of more than 6,000 visitors, major art galleries, emerging and established international artists, have not missed this call to present their works to a wide audience. In addition, BCN INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR awarded the best artists of the moment. The Global Art Awards aimed to give the artist and gallery the recognition they deserved. Prizes were judged by curators and art professionals. Like this year, Robert Llimós, an outstanding Catalan artist, was part of the jury, along with other important members of the international art movement. Collectively, they judged the participants during the fair.
So if you missed it and you are into classic, modern, or avant-garde art don’t you worry, this art fair will come back to Barcelona next year. We congratulate our photographer Gabriella Rouiller for being part of this prestigious artistic event!
