Wild Kids in love running from adults without common sense. This movie is a love story of an orphan boy scout and a problematic girl child of two expressionless lawyers. The year is 1965, the weather is cold and windy, all is set in a barely inhabited islands, very well musically accompanied with a photograph that reinforces the vintage look of the film. The costumes, by Kasia Maimone is enjoyiable yet not the highlight of the film.
The screenplay written by Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola, is an adventure, a comedy that legitimizes the willingness of young and adults trying to wake more structured. With acid dialogues, timing and cold poetry and finely constructed characters, Moonrise Kingdom wants to give ourselves a little more. At times we are seduced with their harmonic detail, at times causes us to their sequence shots: duality: love and coldness, sense and reason, kids teachers, Moonrise Kingdom.
